 The Economic Opportunity Board of Clark County (EOB) Housing Division has eight (8) low- income housing units for seniors in North Las Vegas, referred to as the Comstock Community Homes Development Corporation (CCHDC).

 EOB Housing Division has provided services specifically related to the affordable housing needs of our community for 22 years. The Division’s mission is to provide transitional and affordable housing opportunities to low and very low income households.

Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity Requirements

The property is a multi-family housing complex designed for federally assisted housing regulated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The Property does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, nation origin, familial or handicapped status in the admission or access to or treatment, or employment in its federally assisted programs and activities.

Senior and Mentally Disability Housing Qualifications

Applicant eligibility is not an entitlement to housing.  Every applicant must meet the Resident Selection Criteria.

There are two levels of applicant eligibility:

  • (1)     Level One is the Pre-Application.

In this stage an applicant is considered for placement on the waiting list.  In the first level of eligibility the following conditions are evaluated:

  • ·         Household type, household size and household composition
  • ·         Income for Eligibility
  • ·         Assets and assets disposed of in past 2 years
  • ·         Unit size needed/ requested
  • ·         Unit type needed/ requested
  • ·         Prior residency/ credit information
  • ·         Effectiveness of marketing strategy
  • ·         Identification of household members
  • ·         Unit accessibility needed/ requested
  • ·         Social Security certification for all household members age 6 & older
  • ·         Special unit needs
  • ·         Changes/ updates to the Pre-Application
  • ·         Verifications of income/ assets/ expenses
  • ·         Verifications of non-financial criteria (i.e., landlord references)
  • ·         Credit report
  • ·         Verification of eligibility for deductions
  • ·         Verification of accommodation/ accessibility needs
  • ·         Criminal background, including sex offender status

To be eligible for admission to the Property applicants must:

  • ·         Sign all release and consent forms
  • ·         Household income that does not exceed the applicable income limit
  • ·         Meet the admission occupancy standards set forth in this policy
  • ·         Have demonstrated conduct, habits, and practices which would not prove detrimental to the property, management, or residents and community.
  • ·         Must be a Senior (55+ and older)
  • ·         If mentally disable, must have copy of medical records.
